(Seychelles News Agency) - The Seychelles President James Michel has sent a message of sympathy to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India after a gas cylinder explosion in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday claimed 88 lives and injured others.

“The government and the people of Seychelles share in the pain of your loss and wish those injured a speedy recovery,” said Michel in a statement issued by the Seychelles Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Transport this morning.

Michel added that the government and the people of Seychelles stand with India in these trying times and will mourn and pray for all those that perished in this tragedy.

According to AFP the explosive materials were stored illegally in a residential building and Indian Police are now searching for the main suspect.
