Minister Laporte to conclude visits in Mauritius at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport

The Minister for Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, Veronique Laporte, continued her official mission to Mauritius on Tuesday with a series of high-level courtesy calls and technical engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Seychelles and Mauritius.
As part of her second-day programme, the Minister paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Land Transport of Mauritius, Mahomed Osman Cassam Mohamed, where discussions focused on public transport systems, sustainable mobility, road safety and areas of mutual cooperation.
She also met with the Minister of Energy and Public Utilities of Mauritius, Patrick Gervais Assirvaden, with exchanges centred on energy efficiency, electric mobility initiatives and the role of public utilities in supporting sustainable transport infrastructure.
Further discussions took place during courtesy calls on the Minister of Agro-Industry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries of Mauritius, Arvin Boolell, GOSK, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of Mauritius, Dhananjay Ramful.

These engagements reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between Seychelles and Mauritius and highlighted opportunities for collaboration in maritime safety, monitoring and tracking system and regional integration.
The Minister will conclude her official visit to Mauritius on Wednesday at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. She will meet with the Director of Civil Aviation, Iswarduth Pokhun and the Principal Secretary to the office of the Prime Minister. The programme includes a tour of the baggage make-up area.
The visit emphasises the commitment of Seychelles, an archipelago in the western Indian Ocean, to strengthening cooperation, exchanging best practices and fostering closer ties with Mauritius across the transport and civil aviation sectors.
