(Seychelles News Agency) - Miss Seychelles Another World 2015, Linne Freminot, has flaunted her designer gown that she will wear for the Miss World grand finale in China this Saturday.

Freminot joined the other beauty queens on the catwalk of the Beauty Crown Grand Theatre last week to showcase their finest couture pieces in the World Fashion Designer Dress event.

The proud beauty from the 115-island archipelago of Seychelles, in the western Indian Ocean, wore a gold and black gown. It was designed, produced and sponsored by Karine Dupouy of KanKan, an haute-de-gamme boutique in Seychelles’ capital, Victoria.

Freminot said the dress reminds her of the physical beauties of her home nation.

“The two colours represent the last hour of sunshine on the horizon of Seychelles, in other words the golden sunset of Seychelles,” the 22-year-old said Monday in an interview with SNA.

Freminot participated in the World Fashion Designer dress as part of the Miss World Top Model pageant last Saturday. The pageant is being held on Hainan Island, China. 

Earlier this month Freminot earned first runner-up in the Miss World Sport Challenge. This is the first time a Seychellois contender has placed so highly. Miss Namibia, Steffi van Wyk, placed first.

The events in the challenge included individual shuttle run, long jump, and 100m sprint.

“I wasn't expecting it. One thing I have learnt during Miss World is not to tell everyone about your secret talents,” said an excited Miss Seychelles.

Freminot’s talent in dancing was also applauded at the competition. She will be performing a sega dance, a traditional dance of the Seychelles, at the opening of the talent show Tuesday evening. Results are still to come in the beauty with a purpose contest, the interview and the multimedia challenge.

Freminot, who was crowned Miss Seychelles Another World 2015 in May this year, has high hopes that her “beauty with a purpose” project is going to make a difference at the Miss World 2015 pageant.

Her project is a community empowerment project entitled “Children’s Restoration.” It aims at helping the children of prisoners in the Indian Ocean island nation by monitoring their progress at school and providing extra lessons for them.

For the multimedia challenge, Freminot has a Facebook page where she was posting on a daily basis before leaving for China. She stated that she is making great use of Instagram and the Alipay app as the other websites are blocked in China.

Alipay “is a little like Snapchat, where you make a few seconds [length] video which you later post. People then like our video. The more likes you get, the better your chance is to win the multimedia award. I actually made it to the top 20,” said Freminot.
